Course Overview

The BIIAB Scottish Certificate for Personal Licence Holders is the qualification required by law for the grant of a Personal Licence in Scotland.

A Personal Licence enables the holder to make, or authorise other staff members to make retail sales of alcohol from premises that hold a Premises Licence.

Scheduled Courses

Each course usually runs from 9am – 5pm, with an hour break. Once you have booked your course we will send you a confirmation with all the information you need. We will also post out your course handbook, which is included in the cost.

Achieving the Scottish Certificate for Personal Licence Holders qualification is the first step in gaining your Personal Licence. You will then need to apply to your local licensing board for your licence. We can take the hassle away and apply for your licence on your behalf. This qualification is assessed by a 40 multiple choice examination. You must achieve 28/40 to pass.
