What is the BIIAB Level 2 National Certificate for Licensing Practitioners?
It is a qualification that ensures that those involved in the review and approval of personal and premises licences are aware of their roles and responsibilities under the new Licensing Act 2003, and the associated guidance and regulations.
Who is this qualification for?
It is designed for local authority licensing officers, and other staff, such as police officers, fire officers and environmental health officers, involved in the administration of the Licensing Act 2003.
What does the qualification cover?
The qualification gives a broad introduction to the process of licensing including:

the duties of a licensing authority

applications and determination of a licence being granted

hearing and appeal processes and procedures

the powers and rights of the relevant authorities to inspect licensed premises

This qualification is the first step towards professional recognition of the licensing role. A BIIAB Level 3 Advanced Certificate is planned for 2006, which will lead into university courses.

How long is the training course?
A two day course that includes a short multiple-choice exam. A comprehensive handbook, presented in an easy-to-follow format, supports the qualification and covers all the information needed for the examination.
There can be flexibility with your booking, you can take up one of three packages:

Platinum - course, examination, handbook and refreshments throughout including dinner on the first night and overnight accommodation with breakfast. £325 + vat

Gold - course, examination, handbook and refreshments throughout including dinner on the first night, but no overnight accommodation. £265 + vat

Silver - course, examination, handbook and refreshments throughout, but no dinner or overnight accommodation. £245 + vat
